Housing Assistance Programs in Massachusetts
RAFT (Residential Assistance for Families in Transition) provides up to $7,000 within a 12-month period for rent arrears, security deposits, first and last month rent, moving costs, and utility help. Apply online through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities or contact your local housing agency.
HomeBASE provides up to $30,000 over three years for families in emergency shelter transitioning to permanent housing. HomeBASE covers security deposits, rental assistance, moving costs, and furniture. Families must first enter the Emergency Assistance shelter system to be eligible.
MRVP (Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program) is a state-funded rental voucher program separate from federal Section 8. Contact your local housing authority for availability.
Emergency Assistance (EA) Family Shelter is available to families with children who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Massachusetts is legally required to shelter eligible families. Apply through the Housing Help Hub or call 211.

HomeBASE Program (Massachusetts)
The HomeBASE program in Massachusetts helps families move out of shelters and into stable housing.
