RAFT Program Moving Assistance in Massachusetts

Haul of Fame Movers LLC provides moving services for families approved through the RAFT program (Residential Assistance for Families in Transition) in Massachusetts. RAFT provides up to $7,000 within a 12-month period to help families experiencing housing instability. RAFT funds can be used for rent arrears, security deposits, first and last month rent, moving costs, utility arrears, and utility security deposits.

How RAFT Works With Haul of Fame Movers

When a family is approved for RAFT assistance that includes moving costs, their caseworker contacts Haul of Fame Movers to coordinate the move. We work directly with the caseworker to schedule the move within the required timeline, arrive on the confirmed date, move the family into their new housing, and handle all logistics including furniture setup and delivery. The caseworker handles the payment through the RAFT program — the family does not pay out of pocket for the move.

Who Qualifies for RAFT

To qualify for RAFT in Massachusetts you must be a household at risk of homelessness or housing instability. Income eligibility is generally at or below 50 percent of the Area Median Income. You must demonstrate a housing emergency such as eviction notice, utility shutoff, or need for security deposit to secure new housing. Applications are submitted online through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. Local housing agencies like Way Finders, CHD, Catholic Charities, SMOC, and Community Action help families complete the application.
