Renovation Moving Services — Furniture Removal and Ram Board Floor Protection
Haul of Fame Movers LLC provides renovation moving services for homeowners, contractors, and property managers throughout Western Massachusetts, Worcester County, and Connecticut. When you are renovating your kitchen, bathroom, floors, or any room in your home, your furniture needs to go somewhere while contractors work. Then it needs to come back. We handle the entire cycle as one vendor so you do not have to coordinate multiple companies.
Our Three-Phase Renovation Support Process
Phase 1 Furniture Removal Before Renovation. We move all furniture, appliances, and personal items out of the renovation zone. Items are blanket-wrapped and placed in another room, your garage, a PODS container, or a storage unit depending on the scope of the project. Every piece is protected the same way whether it is going across town or across the hallway. Typical time is 1 to 3 hours depending on room size and volume.
Phase 2 Ram Board Floor Protection Before Contractors Start. Before your contractors begin work, we install Ram Board temporary floor protection over your existing hardwood, tile, laminate, or carpet. Ram Board is a heavy-duty engineered paper that creates a rigid durable surface protecting floors from dropped tools, paint spills, heavy foot traffic, drywall dust, and dragged equipment. We cover every floor surface between the entry point and the work zone. Ram Board is rolled out, cut to fit, and taped at every seam. Stairs are individually covered and secured. Typical installation time is 30 to 90 minutes depending on coverage area. Ram Board installation costs $2 to $4 per linear foot including material.
Phase 3 Furniture Return After Renovation. When the contractors are done, we come back. We remove the Ram Board, clean up the protection material, and move all furniture back into the newly renovated space. We place everything exactly where you want it in the new layout. For rooms with new floors, we place furniture pads under every leg to protect the fresh surface. Ram Board removal is included in this phase at no additional charge. Typical time is 1 to 3 hours depending on room size and volume.
Why You Need Ram Board Floor Protection
Ram Board protects against dropped tools and hardware, paint and stain spills, drywall dust and construction debris, heavy boot traffic from contractors, dragged appliances and equipment, ladder feet and scaffold marks, and spilled adhesives or grout. Ram Board protects hardwood, engineered hardwood, tile, marble, natural stone, laminate, vinyl plank, LVP, carpet, and concrete. Most contractors do not provide floor protection. It is considered the homeowner's responsibility on most renovation contracts. If you do not install Ram Board before work begins, you are gambling with your existing floors.
